Who We Are!

The Border Riders Motorcycle Club “BRMC” is a not-for-profit 501(c)(7) organization for gay men who like to ride motorcycles and who like to go camping on their motorcycles. Our membership spans the Pacific Northwest with the greatest participation in the Portland, Seattle and Vancouver B.C. areas. We are one of the largest and longest-running gay motorcycle clubs in North America. We welcome like-minded guests to our Meet & Greets, day rides, and to our monthly meetings and summer campouts with a sponsoring BRMC member.

Annual General Meeting Recap

For the last several years since moving our annual general meeting from the Cuff we were able to have our Annual General Meeting at Millennium Tower with several formats – potluck, prepared food or bringing in outside food.  We had great views of Puget Sound, no sticky floors and free parking.  This year was supposed to be more of the same, BUT, there was a Seahawks playoff game at the same time as our AGM.  That part of downtown would have been a nightmare for travel and parking so we scrambled to find another place for the meeting.

We ended up at Archie’s in Burien/Normandy Park.  They have a banquet room, but it is currently full of swap out kitchen equipment so we were able to use the bar instead. By rearranging the tables we were able to set up a space for our meeting.  People arrived at 4 for social hour and the bar was available in addition to chips, salsa and quesadillas.

The meeting started promptly at 5 with elections and voting on our new members – Gerald K. and Jason S. who were admitted to the meeting after the vote.  There were hopes to finish the meeting by 6:30, but we ran long.  So with a short break we filled our plates with enchiladas, rice, beans and chicken carnitas and continued the meeting.  Once the meeting ended there was a little more time to engage while putting the tables back in order before people headed for home or other activities.

A big thanks to Archie for putting it together for us on short notice.

From the Handlebars of the President

The AGM was great – a lot of discussion about a variety of topics including Victoria Day, Pride events, bylaws, budget and standing orders.  Now that business is taken care of going to the future mindful of our budget considerations with our current numbers.

Join us for the Banquet which is a different format from the past as a potluck format.  March and April are meetings, then onto May when we kick off our riding season.  Look at what Dale C. has put together for us for this summer in his report.

I hope to see you all at the banquet.

Road Captain Rumblings

Hello gentlemen,

Well, I finally did it. I went out to the garage and tried to start my bike on Monday. Deader than a door nail!  I put the battery charger on it and the next day after a few sputtering attempts, it started up just fine. Next time we get a dry non-freezing day in the Seattle area. It's time to start doing some slow speed practicing,  One of my favorite things to do on a motorcycle.

Contributions of Photos & Stories

Please feel encouraged to send us your photos of our activities to News@BorderRiders.com. Please be aware that often your email client or and/or our storage system might downgrade the file size/image quality.

Club Archives - We are working hard to consolidate the digital archives. We recently added over 4,000 new photos going back to 2004, but there are still lots of gaps.

We need your help!!! Please consider scrubbing your image archives and submitting them to the club in the original size. This will help us complete the picture. (You will be given instructions on how to upload them to our Google Drive.)

Create folders if needed and include the year and month first, then your name. Event name is helpful but not required. For example:

  • 2021 03 Seattle Day Run – Don Pics

  • 2025 01 Don Pics

  • 2025 02 Don Pics

Also, if you do anything interesting outside the club, we’d love to hear about it. Send us a short story with some photos and we will try get it into the next newsletter. It doesn’t have to be motorcycle related to be interesting. We are very diverse.

If you have photos and stories to share, please send to news@borderriders.com
