This will be a moderate to brisk paced ride with the possibility of a few little hard twists of the throttle now and then.
We’re meeting in downtown Tacoma at 9:30 AM at:
Corina Bakery
602 Fawcett Ave.
Tacoma, WA 98402
After some yummy coffee and baked goods, we will head out over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge through Purdy down to Shelton and out through some beautiful back roads. Along the way we’re going to stop at the Satsop nuclear power plant cooling towers which are a spectacular site. Don’t worry about becoming sterile after visiting this place, it was never commissioned to produce nuclear power before the whole project was cancelled on the 80’s. After that we will head to the Capitol State Forest where there is about 300 feet of decent gravel road before we get back to pavement and end up in the Olympia area.
I’ve done this road a few times and it’s really quite fun.
See you all Saturday morning in Tacoma!
